CHRISTMAS STOCKING SWAP

Hello, thank you for visiting me today, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Our Christmas has not started yet as my son's won't be home until Monday. We had a Christmas stocking swap in the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, hosted by the lovely Kris Dickinson. You could either buy a pre-made stocking and add to it or you could make one. I received this beautiful Eiffel Tower stocking from Caroline and then we filled it with things. Thank you so much Caroline. I love it. I made a stocking, I used linen that my husband's Grandmother brought over from Europe and vintage lace, which was for Lisa, I made her a journal, a cloth Marie ornament and a necklace. I hope she likes it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday week. Hugs, Terri

REBECCA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Hello, Thank you for visiting me today. It is a very special day, it is Rebecca's Birthday. I want to wish her a very wonderful Birthday, she is such a beautiful lady inside and out and it has been such a pleasure meeting her. Please go see her beautiful blog, just click on the above sweet picture of Rebecca and join the party. I love to visit her blog, her photo's are just amazing and so are her beautiful creations. Happy Birthday Rebecca, I hope you have a lovely day.

We are to share a present that we made for someone, well I usually share most things I make but this is one that I have not shared. In September, my daughter in laws, niece Anna was killed. She and her Mom had just picked up her brother and sister at school and were walking to Piano lessons, when they were crossing a side street a car had stopped to let them pass. A distracted 17 year old driver who was speeding hit the back of the car who had stopped and pushed that car into Anna and her Mother, Anna died instantly, all of our hearts were broken, she was only 2 1/2 years old. This happened in Bellingham, WA. I live in Michigan and my heart was just broken and I did not know what to do. I decided that I would make a necklace for Anna's Mom, so that she could keep her close to her heart. I had a vintage heart locket and this is what I made. I know it was not much, but I hope it helped a little. Thank you for visiting me today and I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Hugs, Terri

A COUPLE OF THINGS I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON

I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming, I always wish I had one more week. Here are a couple of things I have been working on. I have been collecting broken china doll heads for a long time, wondering what I was going to do with them, well a week ago I saw someone's blog where they had made a china doll topiary tree. I decided to make china doll tree's. I used styrofoam cones and also hard paper mache cones, I put vintage looking papers on them and then decorated them with vintage lace, ribbons and then added the heads to the top and covered up the broken parts with lace and ribbon. I also added hands to some of them. I have these sitting on my mantel for Christmas.

The other item that I have been working on are some journals for gifts, this time I used color, I hope they like them. Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting me. Hugs, Terri

WE GOT OUR FIRST SNOW!

Well on Sunday, we got our first snow, but this was a very strange storm, when it started snowing it was warm outside, so it was like an ice storm and a snow storm on top of it. Everything is covered in a layer of ice and then we got 8-10 inches of snow on top, and then the temperature dropped to 10 degrees and the 30 miles an hour winds hit, blowing and drifting snow. There are lots of people without power and the school kids have had a second snow day. They are having trouble clearing the roads because the temps are so low, with the wind chill its -7. I thought I would share some pictures, the poor trees are really bent. Thanks for visiting me today and have a wonderful week. Hugs, Terri
