A COUPLE OF SWAPS FINISHED

I just completed a couple of swaps items that I have been working on. The first one is the Quarterly Ribbon Flower Swap with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. I am hosting this swap. You make five ribbon flowers and swap them for five other flowers. I try to make different flowers each quarter. I really enjoyed making these. They also have vintage velvet leaves attached to them.

The second swap completed is an Ephemera swap that I am hosting with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. We are all making our own books, I blogged about my book on an earlier post. The idea of the swap is that we have two partners and we swap ephemera. Fabric, prints, ribbons, lace, flowers, buttons, things that we can use to create our books, we picked colors that we would like. My two partners are Debi and Robin. The first pictures are for Debi (Pink) and the last two are for Robin (blue). I used a vintage hanky that I stiffened to make an envelope to put all their goodies in and wrapped it up Marie Style. I really enjoyed gathering items for this swap. I hope they like what I have gathered. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and I want to wish everyone a very Happy Memorial Weekend. Hugs, Terri

ONE OF MY BEST MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS

Well 21 years ago today I received one of the best Mother's Day gifts. My husband and I were married for five years and we had our first son Stephen, I had a lot of complications and was hospitalized over 6 weeks, it was so hard to be in the hospital with a newborn (My first) at home. I was also told that I might not be able to have anymore children. Six years later my husband and I were so blessed to receive Matthew. Stephen was the only person who knew he was getting a brother. I have to say that we have been so blessed with two wonderful son's. Matthew will be a senior at the University of Michigan this fall, he is such a wonderful person, so thoughtful and kind. Happy Birthday Matthew, your Dad and I are so proud of you. I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I Just Finished Melanie's Marie Boudoir

I just finished this Marie Boudoir, which was for a swap with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. I used a vintage cigar box, which I painted and covered in beautiful papers. Then made a shelf and made rooms. I used 4 copies of the images to build out the furniture. It is very dimensional. I really enjoyed making this for Melanie. Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
